Page 2 of 2 Get involved!There are over 300 clubs and organizations at SDSU, including several programs for Latinos. SDSU’s Educational Opportunity Program is the largest in California. It offers assistance to low-income and educationally disadvantaged students. In addition, there are several Latino based clubs on campus. The Cross-Cultural Center celebrates Cultural Heritage Month and provides computers, meeting space, lectures, and leadership training. Students are encouraged to be involved in community activities.

California State University – Long Beach: Smaller city, similar school size, strong sciences programs, also a great beach.
CSU Bakersfield: Only 7800 students, a small student-to-faculty ratio; excellent learning environment.
CSU Chico: Smaller enrollment size than SDSU, still a wide array of academic offerings; professors are said to be highly accessible.
San Diego City College: For students who want to start at a two-year college or receive an associate degree, this school offers both academic and career/technical programs.
University of California –San Diego: Each student belongs to a smaller college within the university, enjoying the advantages of both small and large schools.
